2025 Fall Community Breakfast Set For November 7

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Fall Legislative and Community Breakfast will focus on addressing mental health in the Pee Dee. The event will be held on Friday, November 7th at The Florence Center, 3300 W Radio Dr. in Florence.

Speakers at the breakfast will include Elizabeth Crowley, Executive Director, Leatherman Behavioral Care Pavilion; Rebecca Vincent, Vice President of Patient Services Women’s and Children’s McLeod Regional Medical Center; Farrah M. Hughes, Associate Vice President for Behavioral Health at HopeHealth and Jay Hinesley, CEO of MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

MUSC and its’ collaborative partners opened the doors of the innovative MUSC Health Leatherman Pavilion in late August and will serve as a regional behavioral health center. Please join us and our communities to hear from health care experts about how they are collaborating to address and ease the impact of mental health challenges in the Pee Dee region.

The Chamber’s Community Breakfast is an informational gathering held twice each year. Topics range from state and local representatives providing legislative updates to local concerns centered on community safety, health care, and education. The breakfast is open to business and civic leaders as well as the general public.

The doors will open at 7:30 a.m. and the program begins at 7:50 a.m.

Registration for the Community Breakfast is $30 for chamber members, $40 for non-members and $260 for a forward reserved table of 8. The breakfast is made possible by First Reliance Bank and Signature Wealth Strategies.

Kickin’ Chicken Wing & Chili Festival – This Friday

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce’s annual Kickin’ Chicken Wing and Chili Festival will be held this Friday, October 17th in the 100 block of South Dargan Street in downtown Florence.

A selection of wings tastings and chili styles will be available throughout the evening starting at 5:30 p.m. The event will feature other food vendors along with a selection of beverages, including wine, local and craft beer. The grand stage will be set for music and dancing by the band Chocolate Chip & Company.

The wings and chili will be prepared by competing chefs and local cooking teams. The chamber estimates that they will go through about 1,700 pounds of chicken wings and nearly 100 gallons of chili. Come early to be sure you get your full taste of wings, chili and other fun food and beverages.

The festival helps support the Pee Dee Visions Foundation, which supports the Chamber’s local educational initiatives.

The main event sponsors for the festival include Synergi Partners, HopeHealth, and Victors along with additional support from MPD Electric Cooperative, Hyatt Place, Hotel Florence and Florence Downtown Development Corp.
