2025 Christmas Parade Held December 13

The Annual Florence Christmas Parade was held Saturday, December 13 in downtown Florence with more than 55 organizations participating. Thank you to all who participated and those who came out to support the community!

HopeHealth Welcomes New Provider

HopeHealth welcomes Carson Lee, LPCA, a behavioral health consultant at the HopeHealth Medical Plaza in Florence.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina.

Her clinical interests are trauma-focused therapy and assisting patients with their goals.

Greater Florence Habitat for Humanity Partner Family Receives Tree Planting for Arbor Day

On Thursday, December 11, 2025, Greater Florence Habitat for Humanity proudly celebrated Arbor Day alongside the Forget Me Not Garden Club with a special tree planting for our newest Partner Family, Darlisha Jones. To honor the occasion, members of the Forget Me Not Garden Club generously donated and planted a beautiful Japanese Maple tree, by Taylor Gardens, at the family’s new home located at 418 West Sumter Street.

New Apartments Coming to Urban Square Redevelopment in Downtown Florence

Florence leaders are continuing their redevelopment of the city’s downtown area, as crews broke ground on a new apartment complex called “The Gamble” which will anchor broader Urban Square redevelopment efforts.

The city of Florence is rapidly expanding, and these new multifamily apartments are exactly what leaders say is needed to keep up with the Pee Dee’s growth.

The Gamble Apartments planned for downtown Florence is part of a bigger picture of the city’s downtown redevelopment. The complex will have 102 new units.

Kelley Center Offers “How to Design with Canva” Workshop

Learn how to utilize Canva’s designing tools to create professional marketing products, promotional items, and social media content through this free, hands-on workshop. Registration is free and limited to 15 individuals per session.

Leadership Florence Alumni Toy Donation

The Florence Chamber’s Leadership Florence class officers donated several dozen toys to Lighthouse Ministries this week.

The toys, which were given by members of Leadership Florence Alumni during their recent Christmas Social, will be distributed to area families that are in need this holiday season.

MLK Celebration Set For January 15

On Thursday January 15, 2026, The Florence Chamber of Commerce will partner with Francis Marion University to host the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. event, A Celebration of the Arts.

The keynote speaker for the event is Florence County Councilman, Rev. Waymon Mumford.

The free annual celebration kicks off on the campus of Francis Marion University at the Chapman Auditorium at 6:30 PM. Don’t miss your chance to see several tributes honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
