Florence Community Development Agency to Host 27th Annual MLK Jr. March and Rally

The Florence Community Development Agency will host the 27th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. March and Rally on Monday, Jan. 19, beginning at 10 a.m.

Participants will gather at the Iola Jones Amphitheater, located at 608 E. Maxwell St., where breakfast will be served prior to the start of the march. The march will proceed through downtown Florence and conclude at the FMU Performing Arts Center, 201 S. Dargan St.

A program will follow at the Performing Arts Center, featuring a keynote address by Les Echols of the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce.

The annual event commemorates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and brings the community together in reflection, unity and purpose.
