Last Week’s Chamber Outlook Luncheon
Last Wednesday, the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Outlook Luncheon at the Florence Center with nearly 500 business and community leaders in attendance.
The keynote speaker, Chief Mark Keel, of the S.C. Law Enforcement Division (SLED), spoke on many topics from public safety in South Carolina to law enforcement hurdles regarding youth trafficking, drug use and the proliferation of guns falling into wrong hands.
The Chamber’s luncheon also included the announcement of Luke Wilcox, of Wilcox Office Works, as the Chamber’s Small Businessperson of the Year, sponsored by Dedicated Community Bank.
Also, Jeff McKay of the North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA), was awarded the Chamber’s Public Servant of the Year award by Francis Marion University. At the same time, Dr. Fred Carter, President of FMU, presented both Jeff and Carrie McKay with a unique Parents of the Decade award.
The Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year, Alex Dusky of Community Broadcasters, was also recognized during the program introduction.
