Morning News Coverage of Small Business Week Press Conference

Thank you to the Morning News for their coverage of the Chamber’s Small Business Week press conference on Tuesday.

Several small business owners were on hand to talk about their experiences setting up shop in the community and Florence Mayor Stephen Wukela issued a proclamation officially declaring the week of May 1-7 as National Business Week.

In addition, Chamber President Mike Miller and Director of Community & Minority Enterprise, Les Echols, both delivered remarks about the impact that small businesses make on the economy in the Pee Dee.

Chamber Hosts Growth & Opportunities Forum for Small Businesses

Thanks so much to everyone who joined the Florence Chamber today for the Small & Minority Business Growth and Opportunities Forum!

The forum gave Chamber members and non-members alike, access to information on procurement opportunities, access to capital and small business marketing.

National Small Business Week Kicks Off with Presidential Proclamation

Happy National Small Business Week! Celebrations kicked-off today in the nation’s capital with more than 80 national award winners from across the country and U.S. territories convening to be awarded and recognized for their major accomplishments.

The annual event is hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration and is designed to recognize the nation’s top small businesses, entrepreneurs, and business advocates. The week-long event will continue through May 6.

President Issues Proclamation in Honor of Small Business Week

HopeHealth Cuts Ribbon on Nearly 50,000-Square-Foot Facility Downtown

Officials gathered Thursday to officially cut the ribbon on the new HopeHealth facility at 360 North Irby Street. The nearly 50,000 square-foot building houses eight medical suites, a laboratory, radiology, pediatrics department, pharmacy and administrative offices.

A second phase of construction will bring with it 40,000 square feet of supplemental services and will include a cafe. The Chamber would like to wish a big congratulations to HopeHealth on this major accomplishment for their company and the community as a whole.

Florence After Five Concert Series Kicks Off With The Holiday Band

The popular Florence After Five concert series kicks off this Friday (April 29th) with North Carolina-based “The Holiday Band.” The fun begins at 5:30 pm in the 100 block of South Dargan Street in downtown Florence and lasts until 8:30 pm.

The Florence and Darlington Chambers partnered together on Wednesday, April 27th for our annual Administrative Professionals’ Day Luncheon & Expo.  With a crowd of more than 400 attendees, numerous vendors and a keynote speech by WBTW News13’s Bob Juback, the event was a major success!
