SPC Cares Foundation Invests In GSSM Students

The Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) Foundation has received a $1,000 gift from the SPC Cares Foundation, the charitable arm of SPC Credit Union, based in Hartsville. The donation will help provide financial assistance for a GSSM student from Darlington, Chesterfield, Florence or Marlboro counties toward their annual meal plan fee.

“SPC’s dedication to strengthening communities—especially through youth education—makes their partnership with GSSM a natural alignment,” said GSSM President Danny Dorsel, a member of the Class of 1990. “We are grateful for their generosity, which expands access to GSSM’s transformative STEM opportunities for even more students and families.”

This gift is part of the long-standing support GSSM has received from the Hartsville community.
