Former Florence Lidl Grocery Store Set To Become An Aquatic Center
Remember the Florence’s Lidl Food Market at 2205 W. Palmetto Street? Well after closing more than 3 years ago, Florence 1 Schools has plans to use the facility for an aquatic center.
The F1S school district’s board of trustees recently approved the $5.2 million purchase of the Lidl building as well as an architect contract for the project.
Funding for the project includes $5 million contributed by the Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation and $2 million will be coming from Florence County and Florence 1 Schools foot the rest of the bill.
